30 Therapist Directories to List Your Practice (With Pricing and Signup Links)
On this page you’ll find a list of almost 30 therapist directories with which you should consider listing your therapy practice. I’ve included the name of the directory, whether it’s a general-purpose directory or has specializations (low-cost, online-only, BIPOC, etc.), its cost, website homepage, and a link to the signup page.
List of Therapist Directories
Without further ado, here’s the list of directories. Right-click each column to sort, or use the filter/group/sorting options at the top for easier navigation.
Please leave a comment if you notice any broken links, incorrect prices, or anything else that looks weird. I’ll do my best to keep this list updated!
How Many Directories Should I Be On?
Short answer: as many as possible.
The more directories you’re on, the more chances your future clients will have of finding you. But you need to prioritize, which brings me to the next point:
Choosing Therapy Directories
There’s a lot of directories here and the time and cost of getting listed on all of them is overwhelming, I know.
When it comes to choosing the therapy directories that make sense for you, consider three main factors:
Cost
Target population
Online presence of the directory
If a directory is really expensive and when you search for “therapist near me”, the directory doesn’t show in the first 2 pages of Google results, avoid it. But if a directory is expensive and relevant to your target population and shows up high in search results, it’s worth considering. Similarly, even if a directory doesn’t show in the first few pages of Google results but it’s free, getting listed might be worth it if you have the time, but it might not be your priority.
Evaluating Therapy Directories
Depending on how the directory is set up, if it links to your website through a do-follow link, it’s good for your SEO, even if you don’t ever get any clients through it.
But generally speaking, you should be monitoring which directories are getting you clients, the quality of those clients, and comparing it against the cost. A directory that costs $50/month but gives you one great client every month is definitely worth keeping over a $20/month directory that hasn’t given you a client after a year.
The most important thing to highlight here is to track of your expenses on directories, don’t just spend on them month after month for no reason.
